The Board of Directors of the Animal Welfare League announced that on May 2, 2018 Linda Estrada is no longer employed with the Animal Welfare League, effective immediately.
The Board has appointed Diane Spyrka, Manager of the Animal Welfare League’s facility in Chicago, as Interim Executive Director of the Chicago Ridge facility.
The Board will announce additional steps to move the Animal Welfare League forward in the near future.
Founded in 1935, the non-profit Animal Welfare League has facilities in Chicago and Chicago Ridge and operates a regional shelter program providing a critical link in the safety net for animals with nowhere else to go. The Animal Welfare League mission is to prevent cruelty to animals, provide quality homes through adoption, promote respect and compassion for all creatures through humane education, provide shelter and care for homeless and unwanted animals, reduce pet overpopulation through its in-house low-cost spay/neuter clinic, provide veterinary care for low-income pet owners, and relieve the suffering of animals.
